First-time home buyers can learn how to punch up their purchasing power at a Home Buyer Fair at Baptist Grove Church in Raleigh on April 28, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Sponsored by state Rep. Grier Martin, the Home Buyer Fair will provide opportunities for potential buyers to learn about the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency’s mortgages and downpayment assistance.

Highlights:      Information on FirstHome Mortgage and Other Home Buying Programs
Learn how to qualify for the Agency’s 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages, currently at 5.75% interest (100% financing available). Buyers may qualify with incomes as high as $80,000 (for a family of three) and for homes with sales prices up to $200,000. Downpayment assistance up to $7,000 is available to buyers with lower incomes, in the form of a zero-interest, deferred loan.
